What could be sweeter than a newborn cria? Well, maybe one taking those very first few tottering steps. Or one being welcomed into the herd for the first time.

Here at Serene Pastures, we take great pride in the "mothering" abilities of our moms. They are protective, good milkers (as we say) and overall just the epitome of motherhood.

Enjoy this little window into the world of alpaca motherhood.

Color Dark Silver Grey/White DOB 7/1/01
Dam ACR Anastasia
Sire PPPeruvian Kenamori Gold 6026

Sabrina was purchased as a yearling, right out of the show ring! She was a looker! Her excellent conformation, combined with her dense, evenly crimped, beautiful grey fleece, was clearly evident. She has placed in several shows, incluing the Level V North American. As Sabrina began her breeding career, we chose to breed her to another grey, CVA's Guy Lombardo, in the hope that we would continue the grey line.

Sabrina's first cria, Serene Pastures' Shalimar, is a beautiful grey girl with incredible fleece. Last year's cria, Serene Pastures' Night Spirit, was born with the finest fiber of any of our animals! Like his big sister Shalimar, we have high hopes for Spirit as he enters his first show season. Sabrina has been bred to Serene Pastures' Armani, who, while fawn, possesses grey genetics of his own. Our fingers are crossed for a rose grey cria this summer.
